I posted a picture last night, here are two more. Growing up in So Cal where everything is all neat and clean, I love funky NYC restaurants. Besides being tiny, MM's bathroom is in the back of the space which requires you to walk through the narrow, busy kitchen. Here's the view the confronts you when you come out, the gauntlet through which you must pass:

And what would a mexican restaurant be without large clusters of resin grapes?

The food is wonderful as well. I had huitlacoche quesadillas and chiles rellenos - the chiles are simple but perfect, roasted poblano peppers stuffed with corn, tomatoes, and cheese and baked (not breaded or fried.) Served over rice that's cooked with cilantro. So fabulous that you forget you're not eating meat (which is on the menu, of course.)
Highly recommended.
