Watching the news
Nov. 9th, 2006 08:09 pmI used to check the news and news/political blogs daily to find what fresh new offense had been committed, hurtling us further towards a single-party 1984-ish police state.
After these elections even though I know were're not completely safe I've stopped reading 2,3,4 times a day.
I feel safer now. I can relax. I am no longer frightened - and having directly experienced the WTC attack I felt much more afraid of the republicans in power than I have of islamoterrorists.
It's possible to be hopeful again. I feel as though a nightmare has ended. I know I won't feel that way once the new Supreme Court starts whittling away at our rights but at least there's hope.
Wheeeeee.
We're making dumplings.
