Jul. 21st, 2007 07:42 amSo the people who should be enforcing the laws - the Justice Department - have been taken over by political operatives appointed by the President (well, the Republican party in the form of Rove and Cheney.) The Justice Department refuses to investigate or prosecute crimes committed by the executive branch even when instructed to by the elected Congress. The Justice Department, at the instructions of the Republican party, will prosecute innocent opponents to ensure a Republican majority. The Supreme Court has been stacked with political appointees as well so that laws will be interpreted based on their contribution to this agenda - and it started with the appointment of the loser of the last election as President.
This means that short of impeachment of both the president and vice-president, what we are witnessing is a coup.
I'm pretty frightened.
