Oct. 9th, 2007 12:26 pmI posted my resume on dice.com at the end of last week. This morning alone I've gotten three calls from consulting firms who seemed to think I'm highly marketable.
Having not done consulting before I'm looking for input on how to decide who to work with. One requirement is that I'm able to keep my own insurance. I've got "retirement" insurance through my previous employer, it's like COBRA but it doesn't run out. I want to hold onto that. Also trying to figure out what money to ask for but it seems like the jobs I'm qualified for have an existing hourly rate which is good to start out but not high enough for the longterm.
But what a relief. The biggest problem seems to be how long I want to wait before I start working.
I bought a suit yesterday at Nordstrom. Expensive but gorgeous. It's a medium charcoal with a slight sheen, and the fabric has a texture that runs horizontally. They had to bring it in a little, the shoulders were fine but I looked like the Master Cylinder. With it all clipped up I looked in the mirror and felt good.
18 1/2 neck. ::oink::
