A constant in my life has been this recording that came out when I was 19. I had my first obsessive crush on a guy and sat in my roommate's room (she was moving back in with her parents) smoking cigarettes and waiting for hours for the phone to ring, listening to this record over and over and over. I listened to it driving to and from LA to see the original _Solaris_ that left me wondering what beastly planet was making my life the horror that it was and what it was that I wanted so badly that I was getting it in the shape of emotional deformity and fearsome things that could tear through whatever walls I tried to build against them.

Older and wiser but the damage sometimes turns into sound. And we forget things not because they're unimportant, but because we just forget.

I still think it's one of her best, and one of her best makes it one of _the_ best. It's a desert island recording for me. I'll probably listen to it when I'm dying.

interviews went well. Very well, in fact. They want me to meet the client I'd be working for ASAP as they haven't been able to place anyone there because you have to be super-smart or something and I'm the smartest one of all. It's so great that I've been working hard to make things different and it seems to be paying off. If this one position doesn't work out there will be others.

I did look good. I should point out that Ernie actively resisted, nay, threw a HISSY FIT IN NORDSTROMS about my buying a very sharp-looking expensive suit. So his taking credit for it is just disallowed.

I need to buy more shirts, though, as my neck is still too big.
