Wind and power
Mar. 9th, 2008 01:19 pmLast night, just after I had put $75 of veal chops into the oven (I've never cooked veal before, I thought it would fun, I found a recipe and we made to the butcher shop 5 minutes before they closed and they had everything put away and they used a VERY sharp knive and a hand saw to cut 4 chops and once I got up front I saw they were $21.50 a pound but what could I do?) there was a massive gust of wind and then a BRIGHT blue flash in the front windows and the power went out.
Hahahahaha.
We lit candles and tried to decide what to do. I put the chops into the fridge and then got a flashlight and went for a walk. The road was blocked off and as I walked up the hill I could see several trees leaning against power lines and a line down in the street.
We went down to the local bar at the corner (they had a generator) and had cold beer and sandwiches. Came back and sat around and went to bed. Power came on around 6:30 in the morning.
