Last night our friends John and Raul had a party to announce their upcoming nuptials (they live most of their time in San Diego.) They have interesting friends (including the hot daddy bear
Oliver Sacks) and I spent some time talking to an artist and his wife about visual language, and action painting, layering gesture over images, and photography, and fabric design, and loveliness. Lots of love in the room.
This morning is just astoundingly beautiful, there's a breeze, it's cool from last night's rain, the leaves in the trees are starting their "fall is coming, fall is coming" rustle-noises. The light is less intense, with softer coloring, and the roses are going through their last push of blooming as the hottest days are over. I've been cutting some to keep on the table along with a tuberose that releases rich, sweet scent when it senses the temperature starting to go down.
Then there was
this post (friends-locked, though) that set a context of love, and relationships, and dancing together as the world spins around you and it was just so perfect I had to share it.
