Classic gay

I'm thinking about gay subculture, the oh mary and judy and barbra and the things that you would learn when you started meeting other gay men. I think that the AIDS generation was pretty much the end of this. I'm going to do a book search later but if anyone has reccomendations on thesubject I'd appreciate them.
