Sadness. What to do.
Jul. 6th, 2009 06:58 pmI have a profile on bigmusclebears.com. On that system you can send short notes and I get a few of those a week from a variety of people. Some guys my age, some younger guys, some saying keep up the good work, some saying you're hot, etc. Some people wanting to meet at Bear Week in Ptown. All reasonably in the context of what I expect strangers sending mail to strangers based on looking a pictures.
Sometimes I get email from guys not on the site but who are responding to my profile there. I may have posted previously about the weirdness of the mails that say "you're hot, would like to meet" and there's nothing else - no information, no pics, no nothing. Some of those I ignore and some I send mail to explaining that it would be weird to meet someone based on absolutely nothing.
Once in a while but not very often I get one like this:
"Hi My name is xxxxx xxxxx. I live in Bolivar Mo. I think you are so hot. i lobe older men. I hope we can become good friends. I love photography,music,walking,cooking etc. I would love to get to know you morer. Know one knows that iam gay. i hope someday i can except it. But you are one fine dad who i would not mind you ata ll making love to me. Take care... "
There's a picture at least, not bad looking but sort of goofy guy, wearing pukka shells over a blue tshirt.
I am at a loss as to what to say. I want to be supportive to an obviously messed-up-sexuality person but I also need to be honest that it just doesn't work this way to send someone a "you're hot" mail and then become good friends.
I guess I say just that. It still makes me sad.
