Showgirls, and faggy waiters

Night before last we took a friend out to a local Ft. Lee italian restaurant for his birthday. It's very local feeling, we'd been there once before and I had an absolutely amazing Osso Bucco. So we're sitting looking at the menus and I hear this incredibly faggy voice say "hi boys, what can I get you". I was just not expecting to find this in the neighborhood and it set us all into a giggle fit.

Later on, when Ernie got his food, he was trying to figure out which were the crab raviolis and which where the lobster raviolis. Our helpful waiter explained that the lobster ravs were sort of pinkish and the crab ravs were taupe. "taupe". I spit water. I so enjoy these bonding-with-gay-strangers moments.

Last night I went to the Chelsea Clearview Cinemas to see _Showgirls_, hosted by drag queen Jesse Volt in front of an almost all-gay audience. My favorite section was where Crystal and Nomi go to Spago and talk about their experiences in eating dog food. At least half the theatre spoke the entire exchange along with the characters.

I am so thankful to be gay.
