La Lupe

I've been going through another phase where I'm finding myself listening to a lot of Salsa and really enjoying a lot of the older stuff.

One of my favorite compliations is _Illicit Latin_ and it's introduced me to La Lupe.

Years ago I saw Celia Cruz perform in front of the NY Stock Exchange - there was a HUGE crowd of people, office workers, dancing in the street in the middle of the day.

I would have LOVED to have seen this performance of La Lupe in Central Park.

I've never thought that KG was all that funny - some of her stuff, though, like the bit on G.Paltrow and S.McCartney, is snortingly funny. Imagine my delight at her acceptance speech at the early Emmys:

"A lot of people come up here and thank Jesus for this award. I want you to know that no one had less to do with this award than Jesus...Suck it, Jesus. This award is my God now."

And because anyone who doesn't suck jesus cock publicly is being blasphemous, it's being cut from the program before it airs.
