I coughed all night.  Every 3-4 minutes.  They don't sell a Robitussin DM equivalent otc in spain or anything to suppress a cough, so we decided in the AM that I needed to see a doctor.  Which, after some research, meant going to an ER.  I made a dry ham sandwich and wrapped it and two croissants and stuffed them in a pocket, shot down a ccl, and got in a cab.
Our experience had been that many people in BCN spoke english, or some english, or had experience with people who spoke just a little spanish (simple and slow, please.)  That experience did not hold up in the hospital where almost no one I interacted with spoke the least bit of english nor did they get that in order for me to understand them they needed to change how they spoke.  Apparently, though, they understood my spanish.
